Mother Nurture Classes
Nurturing mother, nurtures the baby

I teach with the belief that preparation means learning skills, not just information. Every class is an interactive learning opportunity. Mother Nurture Classes are always relaxed and personal. I keep class size small, no more than 5 couples, which gives you a greater ability to interact. The relaxed environment surrounding our class encourages questions and discussion. Healthy snacks will be provided, feel free to bring whatever you want with you as well!

Mother Nurture Birth classes are based on the philosophies of ICEA, International Childbirth Education Association, "freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives in family-centered maternity and newborn care." Mother Nurture Breastfeeding Classes are based on my experience as a nursing mother as well as my time spent as a La Leche League Leader and my additional training as a Breastfeeding Educator with CAPPA.

Happy Birthing Day, I hope you have a satisfying and memorable birth experience and celebrate the joy of your transition to parenthood!!

For the love of families,

Class Philosophy:
I believe in providing women and their partners with the information necessary to make educated choices regarding labor, birth, breastfeeding and parenting. I believe that pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting experiences are significant events in the lives of those who experience them. I believe that pregnancy and birth are normal and healthy, and does not require routine medical interventions. The meaning of childbirth is as individual as the goals of individual childbearing women and their families. Each pregnancy and birth is unique and has physiological, psychological, spiritual, and social importance. The Birth Day will be remembered forever and can have a great influence over the mental and social health of women and their families.

At the beginning of the series, I ask each participant to list what they want to learn or gain from the classes.  Expectant parents come to class from different backgrounds and each has their own unique ideas and thoughts. By coming to class I hope you will honor different views and opinions with dignity and respect and at the same time acknowledge the need to explore your own values and attitudes. While I have many topics and exercises that I feel are necessary and useful for pregnant women and their partners to engage in, each person contributes their needs and questions to our course outline, therefore making the class individualized to fit your own unique needs.

Look for these classes to come:
Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga Instruction
VBAC Support
Infant Massage
